Surprising absolutely no one, Game Builder Garage players have already left for a unbelievable start.

The game didn’t launch until Friday, but just days later a talented player managed to create an impressive version of Super Mario Kart. Now, another player has stepped into The Legend of Zelda – specifically the first version of Ocarina of Time which was discovered by fans earlier this year.

This latest version is from @MrTalida, who shared her creation online for everyone to see. In the clip, we can see Game Builder Garage’s blocky protagonist (correctly painted green) wandering through the scenes of this first build.

Luckily @MrTalida has shared a few comparison snaps to show you how accurate everything is.

We have no doubt that players will continue to create new Game Builder Garage projects that will amaze and amaze us, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for more awesome designs.

In the description, he described the track as not being too difficult for anyone who can play the piano, giving it a rating of 3/5 (intermediate). Either way, it’s still really cool to hear him play the piano, as it gives the music an even more catchy edge.

THE Legend of Zelda wouldn’t be what she is without her music. In 1986, composer Koji Kondo won gold in THE Legend of Zelda released in Japan on the Famicom. The success of the series would snowball in its first 3D release on Nintendo 64, Ocarina of time, but just as the visuals gained an extra dimension, so did the in-game music. It has become interactive.

Dark and airy tones playing on the top OdTIts main menu elicited an array of more mature moods than its predecessors. The heroic and triumphant 8-bit horns are nowhere to be found here. The series’ dive into 3D painted the world with character by pairing colorful melodies with memorable moments, merging the music into the gameplay itself.

By giving players an in-game ocarina to perform songs from the OST, players have effectively received The Great Hyrulian Songbook, with songs that allow Link to summon couriers, move rocks, change levels. water, or even teleport from one place to another. In fact, spending three days with this theme on loop allowed my mind to be actively aware of the rest of the music in the game.

Tom Waits said it better when he said NPR in 2011, “I guess for a songwriter you don’t really go to composition school. You learn by listening to tunes, and you try to figure them out, take them apart and see what they’re made of, and you wonder if you can make one too. You know, and you do it just by picking up the needle and putting it down, and finding out how these people did this magical thing.

Inadvertently that’s exactly what my stupid kid brain did with OdTthe theme of the Kokiri Forest, and thereafter the rest of the game. With my attention to music more than usual at this age, combined with his own predilection for melody enhanced by the mechanics of the ocarina, it was the soundtrack of the game that helped me understand the nature of Hyrule more than anything on the screen.

Listening to those old songs, I now feel like Adult Link is becoming Young Link again. The most recent entry in the series, Breath of the wild, could have easily flattered the fan service of more than three decades of history, but its composers chose another direction, much more interesting. Hajime Wakai, Yasuaki Iwata, and Manaka Kataoka combined their creativity to deliver an esoteric experience instead of tugging at a player’s nostalgic heart. Rather than capturing the weight of the world in a song, they hollowed out their compositions to give the gameplay enough room to breathe. Every entry becomes part of the OST, and the way the music is written adds a unique emotional nuance to a player’s time spent in Hyrule.

Sparse piano notes give just enough form to establish character and ambiance while letting the player fill the space with the sounds of broken arms flowery of staccato, fields of roaring flame, of being struck by lightning. – whatever happens in the game, it’s part of the gig.

Giles Goddard discussed work for Nintendo in the ’90s, which included creating portals in a tech demo for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

One of the original tech demos for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had working portals, which was a gimmick that would later be popularized by Portal. Ocarina of time is one of the most acclaimed video games of all time, but many secrets of its development were not revealed until last year, as part of the Nintendo Gigaleak.

The first screenshots of Ocarina of time showed areas of the game that never made it into the final product. Fans have been puzzled by the screenshots for years, with many wondering just how different the game could have been. Beta content of Ocarina of time was revealed in the Nintendo Gigaleak, while a prototype version of the game was later found on a F-Zero X developer cartridge. New information on the test phases of Ocarina of time was revealed in an interview on the MinnMaxShow Youtube channel. Giles Goddard was interviewed on his time at Nintendo. Goddard worked for Argonaut Games in the 90s and helped develop the first 3D titles, like Star fox and Stunt Race FX. He also worked on the demo of Ocarina of time which was presented at the Shoshinkai show in ’95. Goddard revealed that the content in the demo was more of a proof of concept, but he was able to create something impressive that never made it into the final game.

Goddard revealed that he still owns some of the first source code for these tech demos from Ocarina of time, and it included a map of Hyrule Castle. These maps had working magic portals that the player could use to travel to different locations on the same map. They could even see what was going on on the other side. The portals were connected to crystals that could be flipped, showing different parts of the map. When asked why it was not included, Goddard said he was too far advanced to include such an important new element, so the portals were never Ocarina of time.

The ability to instantly create functional portals and use them in interesting ways will appear later in Portal, which is another beloved title that came out nine years later. It is interesting to think how Ocarina of time (or one of the last The Legend of Zelda titles) could have used this concept in his dungeons, as it could have been earlier Portal nearly a decade.

The research and development staff working on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had created a portal mechanic a decade before Valve’s leased system as used in Portal.

Talk to MinnMax, Giles Goddard of Chuhai Labs – who worked at Nintendo in the 1990s – explained that a demo prototype, designed to experiment with the capabilities of Nintendo 64 hardware, had portals that would allow Link to travel to different areas of the world. the map.

This style of real-time portal technology would later form the backbone of Narbacular Drop, a 2005 indie game developed by Nuclear Monkey Software. There’s the dark timeline where the hero is defeated, the adult timeline that leaves the world without the hero, and the child timeline where Ganondorf is banished to the Twilight Realm.

However, Ocarina of time does not need to be Nintendo’s Skyrim. It doesn’t have to be a game that Nintendo carries across all available consoles, because it is a successful game. The range of games available in the Zelda series is also far superior to what is currently in Ancient scrolls series. It is also possible that Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD could be bundled as a Switch port, as these are the most recent remasters before the next one Skyward Sword HD. If Nintendo continues its trend of bringing remakes, HD remasters, and Virtual Console ports to the Switch, there are certainly plenty of options to consider.

All in all, there is always the possibility that Ocarina of time could be released for the Switch as part of Zelda35th anniversary of. It could even be paired with Majora’s Mask, since the two are related to begin with, and both have received Nintendo 3DS versions. In all fairness, if Nintendo wants to position the Switch as the best console in the business, then it can try to deliver as many hit games from its flagship series as possible. Released in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time still remains a masterpiece today. Its gameplay was groundbreaking for the time, and its storytelling is still emotionally captivating. Link removing the Master Sword from its pedestal in the Temple of Time, in particular, is an iconic scene in video game history. So that the Temple of Light is playable Zelda dungeon, the whole story of Ocarina of time should be rearranged. It would probably be better suited as a final temple before Ganon Castle. Perhaps Rauru could no longer hold back the monsters in Ganondorf, so the Chamber of the Sages fell into the hands of the King of Evil. Link would have to make one last trip to the Corrupted Holy Realm to save the sage from the light.

What a temple of light could have looked like in Ocarina Of Time

While it’s fun to think of a Temple of Light dungeon in Ocarina of time, it’s probably for the best that Rauru has been relegated to the role he found himself in. The Sacred Realm has mostly been kept a mystery throughout the series, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time already has a lot of great dungeons. Still, a Temple of Light could have been used to dramatically increase the tension before Link confronted Ganondorf in his castle.
