Check out this amazing cross stitch Ocarina of Time – Destructoid
One of the coolest gaming themed gifts I’ve seen this year
Grandparent Christmas gifts can be a bit of a hit or miss, in my experience. Sometimes it’s something homemade that you really want to enjoy, but you know you’ll never use it again. Sometimes your parent just steps in and tells them exactly what to buy, which won’t be a pleasant surprise, but hey, at least you’ll like it. Then there are the rare occasions when they succeed, which is exactly what happened to Reddit user u/drummerboy441 when his grandmother cleverly cross-stitched him all the songs from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
My grandma was the one who introduced me to video games, and for Christmas this year, she absolutely killed it. I love you Nana ❤️ from the game
For those who don’t know, cross stitch is a form of needlework in which you make small X-shaped stitches in different colors to create a larger image. Cross-stitching is really tedious and time-consuming, and if you’re not focused, the stitches can end up looking messy. That’s why it’s so impressive to see the work that this guy’s grandmother did on this Ocarina of time cross stitch, because I may not know much about sewing, but I know she knows her craft.
It’s hard to tell exactly how big the room is just by the picture, but it’s definitely not tiny, I think I can say that with confidence. It must have taken hours and hours to complete, and the results are honestly mind blowing. It’s really hard to make it look so neat, especially the little words included for the name of each song and in the Ocarina of time logo at the bottom.
What really gets me is that the title of the post says that drummerboy441’s grandma is the one who got him into games in the first place. I’m the only one in my family who really plays, so I have to admit I’m jealous that OP’s family understands his hobby and can enjoy it with him. I went to the comments to see if he explained how she got him started in games, but sadly there was no follow up. It’s okay, I hope that means he’s enjoying a few games with his loved ones.
