Cautious Clay brought Karma and Friends (and lots of wind instruments) to Dallas – // MELODIC Magazine
Last week, Cautious Clay stopped at the historic Trees in Dallas as part of his 2022 Karma and Friends Tour. The show – filled with jazzy saxophone solos, flawless vocals and flute beat-boxing – was undeniably one that makes you walk away at the end of the night more of a fan than you were when you arrived.
Clay, backed by an incredibly talented and versatile band, played with an endearing and relatable touch of shyness. His talent on the other hand… not so relatable.
He performed a set of nearly 20 songs from his debut album, Impassive love, which mesmerized the crowd from start to finish. As if his airy, ethereal vocals encountered effortlessly weren’t captivating enough, Clay has performed solos on just about every wind instrument, bringing true unique artistry to each of his tracks.
When fans weren’t singing along to his most popular bops like “Cold War” and “Dying in the Subtlety,” they were listening intently to Clay’s poetic lyrics wrapped in an accessible genre-bending sound that’s hard not to miss. to like.
